Stephen King’s “Strawberry Spring” is being adapted to a podcast. The story follows a girl who falls in love with her stepfather, and the lengths she goes to keep their relationship hidden from her mother.

Stephen King’s tales have been brought to life in a variety of ways for more than 40 years, and now Audio Up Media and iHeartMedia have confirmed that they are working on an adaptation of his short story “Strawberry Spring” from the book Night Shift. As if an adaptation of the frightening tale wasn’t enough, the cast also includes a number of intriguing actors, ensuring that this fresh take on the material will undoubtedly match the tone of the original mystery, with Lee Metzger producing the podcast. Strawberry Spring, an eight-episode podcast adaption, is set to premiere later this summer.
According to a press release, “‘Strawberry Spring,’ based on Stephen King’s short tale, will get its first-ever adaptation as a terrifying new scripted podcast. The gripping eight-episode series, produced by Audio Up Media, the highly renowned podcast production studio powerhouse, iHeartMedia, the No. 1 global podcast publisher, and Emmy Award-winning television producer Lee Metzger (NBC’s The Voice), is scheduled to debut later this summer. Metzger will also write and direct the limited series, which will feature Garrett Hedlund, Milo Ventimiglia, Herizen F. Gaurdiola, Sydney Sweeney, Ken Marino, and Al Madrigal, among others, with more to be revealed. Philip Alberstat, a two-time Emmy Award winner, is scheduled to direct.”
“’Strawberry Spring’ follows a journalist who overhears the name ‘Springheel Jack’ on the radio, bringing back memories of his time as a student at New Sharon College and the first time he heard of the serial murderer. The dark mystery develops fast in a search for a killer, as our hero will go to any length to find the savage murderer, even if it means risking his own life.
