The “new world pvp system” is a big change coming in the next update for Star Wars: The Old Republic. BioWare teased the upcoming changes to the game’s PvP with a short video.
BioWare is looking to expand on their recent changes to the power level in PvP, adding more depth and complexity. Major Battlegrounds might be getting reworked as well, with BioWare hinting at a “big change” for players.
Fans of Star Wars: The Old Republic can expect a slew of new content when Legacy of the Sith debuts on December 14th. PvP players, on the other hand, should be prepared for the conclusion of the ranked PvP season, and BioWare has written an article detailing the qualifications for each tier as well as the exact weapons available — in this instance, the Unrivaled Guardsman Weapon Set.
“Until the conclusion of the next Ranked Season, this new Weapon Set from Season 14 will be available at a reduced price of 50,000 Tokens. Replica awards from previous Ranked Seasons will be available for purchase from the PvP merchant, much as last season. These objects have the same appearance and functionality as the originals, however they are labeled “Replica” to retain the prestige of the Season prizes. Don’t wait too long, since when the next PvP Season begins, these gifts will no longer be available for purchase.”
BioWare does provide a tease for the future at the conclusion of the blog post. “We have huge improvements for PvP coming next year in Game Update 7.2,” the studio teases, alluding to what would seemingly be coming multiple patches after 7.0 and also that there will be numerous updates after 7.0, which is a good comfort if you were wondering. “ Keep an eye out for additional information.”
Just in time for Christmas, SMITE is receiving a new god: Atlas. Atlas is a Greek mythological Titan who was cursed to eternally hold up the sky for his involvement in the Battle of the Titans. The playable Atlas, on the other hand, will really employ the sky as a weapon.
“Zeus condemned the Titan Atlas, SMITE’s next Guardian, to carry the greatest weight there is: the cosmos itself, imprisoned in an Astrolabe,” adds Hi-Rez. “He utilizes it as a powerful weapon in the game.” Players may use the Astrolabe as Atlas to send cosmic shockwaves at adversaries, stun them, and temporarily imprison them within before moving them. Atlas may also relieve friends of their own responsibilities by transferring them to foes.”
“The title of Titan carries with it a lot of weight. The Titans seem to be identical to the gods of Olympus in many classic works of art, but contemporary interpretations often make considerable aesthetic modifications, and we sought to do the same. In SMITE, we want Titans to stand out from the rest of the team. Through the game concept of Titan monsters, who players must slaughter to win the game, we’ve already established a precedent for Titans in our reality. We’ll take cues from this, as well as strong motifs from Atlas’ distinct identity. […] Atlas is a classic guardian that focuses on crowd management and aiding friends while hindering adversaries. He was created with the intent of serving as a double lane guardian. Although we anticipate gamers and professionals to give him a go in the Solo Lane, we believe he will struggle. Atlas may be used aggressively to set up kills for his teammates, but he can also be used as a real peel protector. We feel he can still be a Support while being adaptable in his play style.”
More information will be disclosed on the game’s next Twitch broadcast from the developers, which is set for November 24th at 3 p.m. EST, so you won’t have to wait long.
Tomorrow is the big day for Albion Online’s Lands Awakened, and it’s also moving day for your character and belongings.
Sandbox Interactive has issued a last warning to players, stating that due to the substantial biome revamp and map layout modifications, all characters will be relocated to zone entrances close to where they last logged out. Furthermore, gamers that have left furnishings in the open world will have their items destroyed.
“On Wednesday, at 10:00 UTC, the update will be deployed, starting with maintenance. Your player character will be transported to the entrance of the zone they were in when the update was deployed once the update has gone live, and any furniture (including crates) left in the open world will be destroyed. You should have gotten an ingame message if you have furnishings in the open world. Please be careful to gather any furniture you want to keep that has been put in the open world before then. Hideouts will also stay in the same general area of the zone, although they may be shifted significantly and have new surroundings. Inside the first 72 hours after the update publishes, you will be permitted one manual move per Hideout within the same zone.”
If all you have on your island is goods within your dwellings, you should be OK!
As we reported yesterday, a large number of New World players have been hit by a glitch in which certain servers get time-stuck, jumping ahead and disrupting in-game maintenance payments and territorial control. The team had designated the problem as its “top priority” after an earlier repair over the weekend failed to resolve the issue.
So maybe today’s patch will solve the problem. The servers were taken down for three hours this morning to “[decrease] incidents of time leaping days forward quickly on a planet.” The mini-patch also seems to have solved a server problem, corrected the frozen-player issue in congested regions, and temporarily cut housing fees.
“Until our monthly December update, we have temporarily reduced weekly housing charges by 90% to solve the current problem of duplications and exploits.” We’d want to express our gratitude and express our regret to our athletes who have been affected by the current events. To avoid a loss of revenue during this time, the company’s income from house ownership has also been increased. This is a sample of the extra compensation that will be available in future updates.”
The “new world pvp modes” is a tease from BioWare that they are working on big changes for PvP in SWTOR. They also mention that the new changes will be coming in 7.2 next year.
